Alliance Mining Commodities Ltd (AMC) is a privately-owned company that has been granted a Mining Concession by Presidential Decree for the development of the Koumbia Bauxite Project in the Gaoaul Prefecture in the northwest of the Republic of Guinea in West Africa. The Government of Guinea holds a 10 percent free carried interest in AMC SA, the subsidiary which holds the concession.
The Koumbia Bauxite Project is a World Class bauxite development. With a JORC (2012) resource in excess of 2Bt, the high quality direct shipping ore is poised to exploit the rapidly expanding global demand for bauxite. The Koumbia ore, high in alumina and low in reactive silica and boehmite, makes it particularly attractive for use in the low temperature refining process.
The simple, low cost development will initially target 5.5Mwt/pa production rate with expansion to 11.0Mwt/pa within 18 months following commissioning. Mine life is in excess of 50 years as a standalone project. Due to the size of the current mineral resource base there is strong potential to expand the operation significantly during the early years to a capacity well in excess of the initial targeted production.
